Whichever Sabbats you celebrate, and whenever you celebrate, is entirely up to you. These tables are helpful when you wish to find the exact time of the Solstice or Equinox. Between these events are the “Greater Sabbats,” such as Beltane and Samhain, which have traditional dates associated with their modern celebration. Those traditional dates are very close to when the Sun is halfway between a Solstice or Equinox. Many contemporary practitioners celebrate the “Greater Sabbats” from the traditional date to the exact astrological cross-quarter date. This occurs when the Sun is precisely 45 degrees from its position on the ecliptic from the Solstices/Equinoxes.
